What We Did Today:
We were bad and slept in today missing the interdenominational church service at 9:15. We finally got ready and went to the dining room for breakfast. They have caviar on Sundays. After that we returned to the suite so I could finish up working on yesterday's photos. There are quite a few of them so I have a link for you to view them on Picasa. I went back and put it on the end of yesterday's blog too. I will add it to end of this posting also.
At noon we went to fitness center to do our workout. We had room service bring us a couple of salads for our late lunch. High temperature today is 63F under sunny skies. It is windy outside causing another bumpy ride again.
The chef got the mozzarella cheese yesterday that he wanted to make veal parmesan for us. So he is making it for us tonight. Last night I had grilled salmon but both attempts to make it were over cooked. I had requested it medium rare so the head waiter, Michael, suggested I ask for rare next time.
We will dine early (6:30) this evening as they will be showing the Super Bowl in the theater, as well as in the suites, with coverage starting at 8:00 pm. Kickoff is at 8:30 in our time zone. Rebecca will change after dinner into her Bronco's Manning jersey. We'll probably watch it in theater until half time then catch second half on our suite tv. They usually have food (hot dogs, wings, etc) but due to the gastrointestional disorder going around only popcorn will be served. At breakfast we could not use the salt and pepper shakers. The waiter had to do it for us. At buffet, staff will serve you. We are not allowed to touch the serving utensils. They have instituted many things like this to stop the spread of the sickness.
We just finalized the menu for our special dinner on February 10th. We have invited 5 people to join us that evening for dinner in Compass Rose. This is to celebrate our 400th night cruising on Regent and 1000th night total cruising on all cruise lines.
Menu: Appetizer-fried soft shell crab with remoulade sauce
Salad-Marinaded hearts of palm with green goddess dressing
Soup-select from that night's menu if desired
Entree-Beef tenderloin Wellington baked in puff pastry, Shiraz red wine sauce, vegetables,
and twice baked stuffed potato.
Dessert-select from that night's menu
Ok, that's it for today. Tomorrow we will be at Puerto Montt and will be going on a 7 1/2 hour tour.
