Boy, am I glad I did!! The tour was excellent. I have over 100 photos again today for you. I will let the picture captions describe my unique experience today. The guide on our boat was one of best I have had on this cruise and he spoke very good, clear English. The boat's PA system was very good. There were only about 20 passengers on each of the two boats doing this excursion. The tour departed at 8:30 and returned to the ship at 1:30. It was overcast all day long which kept the temperature down so was not unbearable. It is 84F at 5:00 pm now and no rain today. I will put the link to my photos at the bottom of this post.
What We Did Last Night:
First, let me tell you about last night's dinner with the Captain. Turned out it was just the three of us and we dined in Prime 7. We had a nice dinner with her but at times it was hard to understand her Italian accent and she is rather soft spoken.
Earlier during cocktail time we took the picture below of Bonnie, Paul, and Susanne with us. The five of us will be together again on the 2017 Regent World Cruise.
Below is the local group "Grupo Imbauba", who came onboard and did an hour performance. It was very unusual in that the sounds were from instruments made from rainforest (except for the electric guitar) and the sounds were of some birds and other animals found in the forests.
We are sailing at 6:00 pm for our next stop which will be at Parintins as we start our journey back out of the Amazon. We arrive there at noon tomorrow for only a 6 hour visit. Our Captain just said in her pre-departure PA that forecast is for 90% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow. Well, this is the rainy season in the Amazon basin.
No special plans for tonight. Usual cocktail hour followed by dinner in Compass Rose. Two entrees we like tonight on the menu: either turkey & stuffing OR veal liver & onions. Tonight's show features Mikah Horn, JAR female singer. She's a Ft Worth girl!
